Now You See It, Now You Don't

Now Available from Blurb.

Immanent Awareness: The Aparokshãnubhuti of Sri Shankara, With and Introduction and Translated from the Sanskrit by Yours Truly.

Namaste,

Robert

Sri Shankaracharya is widely recognized as the pre-eminent voice of Advaita Vedanta, the Indian philosophical concept of Non-Duality. Believed to have lived around the 8th Century BCE, and to have died at the early age of 32, Shankara is reputed to have been the author of some 400 texts. However, only a handful are traditionally ascribed to him including the Advaita Vedanta stalwart, the Vivekecashudamani. Many of his other works included commentaries on the Brahmasutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Manduka Upanisad. The Aparokshãnubhuti is attributed to Shankara, however, the authenticity of that statement will remain unanswered. It is, nonetheless, one of the most powerful and intriguing texts in all of Indian Philosophy and will challenge readers despite is deceptive simplicity. Like a playful Zen Koan, the Aparokshãnubhuti calls to us and confounds us, teasing us with its lucidity, yet provokes us with its profundity.

Buy My Books...Buy My Books...

Ok, I tried to think of a subtle way to do this, but I figured flat-out honesty was the best approach. I have put together two books from my Indian experience from last autumn that are now available for purchase via Blurb. There are also iPad/iPhone versions available as well.

You May Leave if You Wish is based upon the writings of the eponymous blog, but slightly altered and enhanced with 250 photographs, many "never seen" before.

India Abides: Visions of the Beautiful and Sublime in India is a dedicated photography book with nearly 100 of the photographs that I feel captured the real heart and Soul of the places that I visited.

I am happy to be able to share these gems with you.

You can check out previews for each of the books on the badges to the left of this post.

And, look for new titles arriving on a blog near you soon! This is just the beginning...
