It's a Matter of Time...

उदासीनवदासीनो गुणैर्यो न विचाल्यते
गुणा वर्तन्ते इत्येव यो'वतिष्ठति नेङ्गते
                     Bhagavad Gita 14.23

Sitting, possessing indifference, one is not disturbed by the Gunas, rather thinking "the Gunas are merely in flux", and thus does not stir.

This too shall pass...

  1. "Gunas" are qualities and causes of judgments?

  2. Howdy Gavin. Yep, that is more or less the translation/interpretation of the Gunas...They can be seen as the qualitative aspect of Matter versus Spirit in a Dualistic paradigm, but they can also be manifestations of a psychological quality. Ultimately, despite the majority trying to tout the Gita and the Yoga Sutras as being Dualistic, BOTH of them promote the goal of transcending the Gunas...recognizing that our life as we know is influenced by them, but in the end, it is about transcendence and singularity....Kaivalya and Advaita Vedanta for both...this quote is the key to that in the Gita...
